RALEIGH NC

RALEIGH NORTH CAROLINA-

The Capital City of North Carolina, Raleigh is one of the fastest growing areas in the country. A great economy, top universities, and outstanding health care facilities are some of the attributes that attract people to the Triangle area. Boasting a mild climate, diverse work force and proximity to Research Triangle Park (RTP) combine to make Raleigh a great place to live.

Raleigh is known as the "City of Oaks" and often is described as "a park with a city in it." Trees planted at the city's inception still provide cooling shade for visitors to Moore Square Park, where you'll find the city's signature copper acorn.

Located just three hours from the mountains and two hours from the coast, Raleigh has something for everyone. Its rich history and cultural sophistication are evident throughout the city, especially in the numerous museums and galleries that populate downtown. Wake County's natural beauty mixes with its strong corporate climate to make it a favorable place to establish a home.

RALEIGH'S CAPITAL BUILDING

WELCOME

It should come as no surprise that Raleigh and the Triangle continue to land on so many “best of” lists. The area offers something for everyone.

Whether you’re a native North Carolinian with an appetite for its famous barbecue and Atlantic Coast Conference hoops, or one of the many transplants who prefer a warm bagel and the rink action of an NHL Carolina Hurricanes game, Raleigh is a place everyone is content to call home. Educational and career opportunities, access to some of the best healthcare facilities in the world and an environment perfectly suited for raising a family make Raleigh and Wake County a premier community in which to live, work and play.

But don’t take our word for it. Six out of seven newcomers, and almost all (96 percent) newcomers with children, say they would move to the area again.

Nearly 100 percent of Wake County public schools attain expected or exemplary growth each year, as measured by the state accountability system, the ABCs of Public Education. Wake County’s school superintendent has made it his long-term goal that 95 percent of all students will be working at or above grade level in the near future.

No matter what your recreation preference, Raleigh has the facilities to accommodate it. Folks who are passionate about tennis, jogging, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, cycling, fishing or simply walking man’s best friend find more than enough to do here. Our “city within a park” has plenty of greenery for everyone.

Residents rave about the mild weather in Raleigh. In fact, that’s one of the most common reasons newcomers give for moving here. You can enjoy four distinct seasons with enough bright blue skies to allow golfers 10 months on the links each year. Early springs, mild winters, and a convenient center-of-the-state location make Wake County an ideal place to live. The area's natural beauty is a boon for outdoor enthusiasts. From exciting professional and collegiate sporting events and elegant dining at award winning restaurants to a wonderful blend of art, music, night-time entertainment and the ever-popular North Carolina State Fair, there are always plenty of exciting options in Wake County.

Sports fans have lots to cheer about in the Raleigh area. Pro teams include the Carolina Hurricanes (National Hockey League) and the Carolina Courage Women’s United Soccer Association. Another popular team is the North Carolina State Wolfpack (ACC). The Carolina Hurricanes and NC State Wolfpack play in the 21,000-seat RBC Center.

The entertainment sections of local papers are growing all the time to accommodate the long listings of art galleries and concerts, and theater, opera and ballet performances. In fact, Raleigh is home to the nation’s first state-supported art museum. Our world-class facilities include the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, North Carolina Museum of Art and North Carolina Museum of History.

Even though the area is one of the fastest growing in the country, Raleigh has retained its old-fashioned southern charm and small-town feel. Everyone is made to feel welcome here in one of the best places to live in America.

Real Estate Tips
Agency >A Full Service Professional

Home sellers may be lured by the promises of agents that offer to list and sell your home for a discount commission. But consider the advantages of using a full service broker who will represent your best interests in the transaction without cutting corners.

A full service real estate broker will be informed about the current trends in your local market. He or she will share valuable information about the selling price of comparable properties, to help you determine a realistic price for your home. If your home needs repair prior to listing, a reputable local contractor will be recommended. Buyers will be pre-qualified and personally escorted through your home. After showing your house, your broker will give you feedback from buyers and agents, negotiate the price and terms of the purchase contract when an offer comes in, schedule the home inspection and coordinate the closing.

You may not receive adequate professional or personal attention if the agent feels they owe you less because you are paying them less. It is to your advantage to engage the full services of a real estate broker who will give 100 percent to guide you through the complex process of selling your home.
